What is repeated monotony?
Sounds like you need to unplug
Repeated monotony is the state in which a particular set of tasks are repeated routinely until they are extremely boring. The person is trapped in a vicious loop in which he must do the same thing day after day.
What is the significance of repeated monotony?
You believe that you are special, that somehow the rules do not apply to you. Obviously you are mistaken.
-Rhineheart
Repeated monotony signifies the singaporean lifestyle of mundane structured routines. Like in the matrix, everything is structured and clearly defined. Like a computer program, everything is logical and fixed. Conformity. Anomalies are discouraged. The idea is encouraged that we should use tried techniques and not experiment, not try something new. Deviation from standard rules is discouraged.
I'd love to expand with more crap points but unfortunately we have run out of time.
What is the purpose of repeated monotony?
Every program that is created must have a purpose; if it does not, it is deleted.
But as you well know, appearances can be deceiving, which brings me back to the reason why we're here. We're not here because we're free, we're here because we're not free. There's no escaping reason, no denying purpose - because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist.
It is purpose that created us,Purpose that connects us,Purpose that pulls us,That guides us,That drives us,It is purpose that defines,Purpose that binds us.

Repeated monotony (as a brand) is a creation of HCH. He uses it in areas where you would use your company or organization name. Basically, you could call his creations "Productions of repeated monotony" the same way you would consider windows to be a production of microsoft. Do note that as of now, there is no one else effectively operating within repeated monotony besides HCH. Repeated monotony can be perceived as a realisation that we are trapped in this boring cycle of rote learning and fixed practices, and we need to break free, to exeperiment and to try out new things. We must be willing to take (calculated) risks and think out of the box. Only then will we have exciting and interesting productions.
Who, when and where: My actual name is Chan Hong, although I often go by the alias SirDeNovo. I am also ocassionally known as HCH, after my initials.I have various other less-used nicknames which I will not mention here. I am currently living in singapore and may go overseas in the future. I am a student studying information technology in singapore and I have a passion for programming. As of 2007, I am 17 years old.
What, why and how: Computing has always been my passion. The many aspects of Infomation Technology, I see and appreciate what some do not. I aspire to prove myself by showing the world what infomation technology can really do. Even thought I obtained good O level results with a L1R5 of 11 points, I chose to study Information Technology in the polytechnic because I believed that it would allow me to experience the joy of programming. Coupled with my passion,I believe that I would be able to experience this art to it's fullest extent, to experience its many aspects and details, something which would be impossible in JC. This choice, in itself, is just another risk that I chose to take. To give up the prestiege of a Junior College to pursue my dreams. People may be puzzled as to why I entered such a non-prestegious course. Why? Becuase I love programming. I'm willing to try, to give my effort and strive to be the best. With interest, passion and commitment, I will excel and demostrate what infomation technology can really do. I will create programs that will dazzle the world, and work wonders into software. Why? I realise that i've been given plenty of exposure with computers. Yet it saddens me when people don't know how to fully utilise it. When they accept whatever shortcomings and problems that they encounter. When they think that is all a computer can be. I feel the thrill in creating my own tools, in programming my own solutions. Seeing the logic flow smoothly and everything executing as wanted is spectacular. I want to reveal to them so much more, what they could not see.
Languagues and hobbies: I speak english and mandarin. I am by far more fluent in english. I program and write scripts in C++, VBScript(NOT VB), HTML (Some CSS too), PHP(Integration into HTML) and MYSQL(Integration into php). I also have skills in Adobe photoshop and Macromedia flash. I am picking up VB and Java (not the tea, the language!). I have quite a good general knowledge about many aspects of computers including experience with multiple operating systems such as windows, macs and linux, both in software and hardware. I enjoy programming and doing animation in my spare time, with the occasional photoshop art. I also play some online games moderately, such as DotA from Warcraft 3, and Counterstrike. (And I also enjoy making games, though the latter is pretty hard and easy to give up halfway.) My favourite move is The Matrix. Sometimes I read wikipedia just for leisure, and alternative to books. I've been interested in how the human mind works too, and ofter read about it.
Creations and achievements: I've been interested in computers for a very long time. I've also had much exposure toi them. Before the year 2000, I had already made my first webpage (although it was laughable and done with a WYSIWYG editor). It was out of boredom and curiousity that I started learning the art of programming. Back then, I was in the science and technology club, where one could practice GUI "programming" for lego robotics. It soon became rather boring and after completing the tasks, I would continue doing other research into software technology. One day, a friend shared with me how to display message boxes using VBScripts. In 2003, I picked up VBScript! It would be something similar to the "Hello world" of many languages, but in a few days, I had already learnt much of the syntax for basic input/output, variables, switches and loops. Since then, I've written countless scripts with varying purposes and complexities ranging from an automatic webapage refresher, to a timed virtual keyboard, to an encryption and decryption tool.
In 2005, a good friend of mine, gabriel wu, introduced me to Apache, a free web server you can install to host webpages from your home pc. With my experience in HTML (Although then I did not know CSS yet), I created a website hosted from my own pc through a custom port. I also picked up PHP and MYSQL and created an interactive online game similar to many kingdom building games. It was complete and functional, connected to a MySQL database through PHP and people could register and create accounts, login, build armies to attack other people while their gold and ranks were stored in the server database. I never really got to hosting it publically though since my PC could not be online the whole day and I didnt have enough money to pay for PHP enabled hosting. After the game's structure was complete, I abandoned the project to study for my O levels.
After my O levels (which I did well in, with an L1R5 of 11 points), I spent the first 2 months in Innova JC where I studied C++ programming. With my prior knowledge and my passion for this subject, I soon learnt a lot and my passion for programming was revived. Sadly, The workload of some other subjects like chemistry and economics were too bothersome and left me with little time to do programming. After the O level results came out, I left innova and stayed at home, enriching myself and learning more programming. I started on a project which is currently still active, called Feederbox. It is a tagboard like service, a gadget that people can put into their forums or webpages to instantly receive feedback and comments from their customers and users. It allows visitors to leave a message in a neat box, like a guestbook, with no hassle. Other people can then read and reply to the message, chatroom style. The best way would be to see for yourself at this website. Feederbox is still undergoing development andis getting better and better with more features and functions. I also picked up CSS to integrate it with HTML and make the layouts nicer. At the same time, I renewed and improved my PHP,HTML and MySQL skills.
Recently, I bought the domain http://8c8.org which I use for personal purposes. More information can be found at my blog, click here. If you wish to contact me, you may leave a message on the tagboard or email me at hch(AT)8c8(DOT)org, please replace the (AT) and the (DOT) with @ and . respectively (to counter spam).
What is 8c8 and why should you care?
8C8 is very special. I chose it for my domain for many reasons. There are many more but I'll just list a few.
